North Grenville – A person has been arrested and charged following an intimate partner violence investigation that occurred in the Municipality of North Grenville, on February 24, 2025.
Shortly before midnight, the Grenville County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a disturbance at a residence. Officers attended and found one person who suffered non-life-threatening injuries. An ambulance with the Leeds Grenville Paramedic Service attended to transport the victim to a hospital. The accused had fled the scene before police arrival.
The Grenville County OPP Crime Unit continued the investigation with assistance from members of both the Grenville County OPP and Ottawa OPP Detachments.
On February 25, the 33-year-old accused was arrested and charged with:
- Aggravated assault
- Assault with a weapon
- Assault
- Forcible entry
- Uttering threats – damage or injure an animal
- Failure to comply with an undertaking (four counts)
The accused was held for a bail hearing and remains in custody.
