Augusta – The 17th annual Eastern Ontario Mountain Bike Challenge is being held this Friday, May 9th, at Limerick Forest in Augusta Township.
It is a mountain bike event designed to get you on a bike. It is perfect for a fun or first mountain biking experience. It is not about results or winning, it is about doing the challenge. The Limerick event has both individual events as well as an optional team event and skills challenge.
Mountain biking is a great way to have fun, great for mental health and getting exercise. This is an activity that can last a lifetime. Sure, some of the event is a competition, but it is not about results or winning, it is about doing the challenge. There is a skills challenge which is easy and fun for all to do, and the fastest rider does not win!
To participate, you don’t need a fancy bike. Riders can separate and negotiate the course at their own pace. The course is designed to be safe for newbies and fun to shred at speed. There is also a separate trail that people can ride all day.
