
Elgin – Members of the Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a suspicious fire.
On Saturday, May 10, 2025, at approximately noon, Leeds OPP and the Rideau Lakes Fire Department responded to a fire at an uninhabited single-family home in the village of Elgin. No injuries were reported.
Expect a heavy police presence throughout the remainder of the day. The OPP Forensic Identification Unit and the Office of the Fire Marshal are assisting in the investigation. Please avoid the area.
