Disturbance Leads to Multiple Arrests and Charges

Brockville – Brockville Police say on July 8, 2025, around 9:00 pm, they received multiple 911 calls regarding a disturbance in the area of James Street and Bartholomew Street. The initial information was that a male was being chased by at least one subject, possibly others, after threatening to stab him.

Police say officers responded to the area and located all subjects involved spread within the area of Orchard Street and King Street East. An investigation revealed that one previous to the call, there was a group of youths ranging from the ages of about 13 to 21 years of age.

“Three males in the group engaged in an argument that escalated into a minor physical altercation. During that dispute, the 21-year-old, male subject had threatened to stab the 19-year-old victim and then
proceeded to slap him in the face,” said police. It was learned that around that same time, another 13-year-old, male subject threatened to stab the same victim and displayed a knife that was concealed in his waistband.”

Police then said that this is when the victim fled the area with the two subjects giving chase. This sparked further commotion, and other youths began to run within the area, adding to the disturbance.

As a result, the two subjects responsible were arrested. The 21-year-old subject was released on conditions and a future court date, after being charged with assault and uttering threats, said police.

The 13-year-old subject was held for a bail hearing for carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and uttering threats. Luckily, no one was seriously injured in this incident, police continued.
