Brockville – On July 20, 2025, at about 7:00 am, police received a 911 call in regards to two males passed out in a vehicle, with one behind the wheel, in the area of the Petro Canada on Stewart Boulevard.
It was also learned that the driver was asleep with a bong in their lap.
Officers arrived and found the driver as described. The driver was identified to be a 44-year-old male from Cornwall. They were assessed with a Standard Field Sobriety Test, which resulted in him performing poorly.
A search of the vehicle yielded firearm ammunition that was not properly stored. He was arrested and taken to the Brockville Police Service for additional testing by a Drug Recognition Expert. It was confirmed that the driver was in fact impaired by drugs.
His driver’s licence was suspended after being charged with operation while impaired by drugs, careless storage of ammunition and released with a future court date.
