Brockville – The City of Brockville receives numerous funding requests that can be related to health care, such as physician recruitment, long-term care and hospital redevelopment and upgrades.
In the past few years, the City has approved funding for:
- $4.6 million Brockville General Hospital redevelopment (2020)
- $325,000 University Hospitals Kingston Foundation
- $66,000 Mapleview Lodge, United Counties of Leeds and Grenville
- $500,000 Sherwood Park Manor
- $50,000 Physician Recruitment (2023)
- $40,000 Healthcare Recruitment (2025)
To assist with funding these requests, the City has created a separate Health Care Levy, which will be shown on the 2025 final tax bill. The Health Care Levy is based on ¼ of a percent of the 2025 Tax Levy.
The total 2025 Health Care Levy is $114,705 and is shared across all assessments at a rate of 0.0048 per dollar of assessment.
Please note that this is reflected in the ‘municipal’ column ‘amount’ as opposed to the ‘education’ column ‘amount’ on the right (as shown in the photo).
