Brockville/Elizabethtown-Kitley – The Province of Ontario, through the Independent Electricity System Operator, is undertaking a competitive procurement for new electricity generation under its Long-Term Energy Procurement Process.
As part of this initiative, Alectra Energy Solutions proposes a 5-megawatt solar energy generation facility at the Brockville 1000 Islands Regional Tackaberry Airport.
If selected and approved, the project would help increase capacity on Ontario’s electricity grid and support the province’s long-term energy needs.
Alectra Energy Solutions and Kruger Energy are 100% Canadian-owned companies that own and operate over 100 solar sites across Canada and the United States.
The proposed project is located at the Brockville 1000 Islands Regional Tackaberry Airport, which is operated by the City of Brockville, and is located within the Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley.
A joint meeting for residents of Brockville and Elizabethtown-Kitley will be held for community engagement at the Elizabethtown-Kitley Council Chambers.
Proposed project site:
Brockville 1000 Islands Regional Tackaberry Airport, 4620 Airport Road, Brockville, Ontario, L6V 5T5
