Forthton – It’s an annual tradition that spans three decades, and this year’s version of the Monster Enduro at the Brockville, Ontario Speedway saw a packed grandstand and beautiful weather this past Sunday afternoon.

Over 200 drivers packed the pit area for a day of excitement, which saw four divisions take to the track. Some were competing for the very first time, while several experienced competitors were looking for a chance at another Monster trophy for their collection

The day started off with a 25-lap Ladies race with 24 entries total. Amy Charbonneau led the way early and appeared to be well on her way to a dominant win. A red flag flew on lap 24, forcing a restart. When the green flew, Charbonneau had blown her engine, handing the lead and the win to Lisa Quesnel. Sherri Steele made it to second with Amy Charbonneau making up the top three.

New this season was the Truck division, and this race started off with plenty of action as Yves Charbonneau flipped in turn one on the opening lap. Unhurt in the crash, Charbonneau sent the crowd cheering as he requested his truck be turned back over to continue on, which he did after a short pit stop. Sam Titley was the driver to beat and led the majority of the event until he broke down in the closing laps. This handed the lead to Jason Berends, who led the final dozen laps to secure the win over Connor McQuire and Aiden Hollister.

A total of 102 4/6 Cylinder cars took the green for the next event, and it was chaos right from the beginning, and it looked like rush hour traffic on the highway. As the field thinned out over the first half of the race, Pat Pope and Mat Leduc were the top two, but near the end, a total of three cars were in a fight for the win. At the checkered flag during the 60-lapper, it was Pat Pope holding off Mat Leduc for the big win, with Damien Berends crossing in third.

At the end of the day, a 75-lap 8 Cylinder race took to the track with a few 4 and 6-cylinder drivers jumping into the action again. Mathieu Larocque took the lead in the early going and had his way with the field. Despite a pit stop for a flat tire under red flag conditions. Larocque was able to get back on track and hold on to secure the final event of the day. Jamie Scharf and Mathieu Leduc completed the podium.

The Brockville, Ontario, Speedway takes the next few weeks off to get prepared for the 17th running of the DIRT Outlaw Apparel Fall Nationals, with plenty of action taking place both Friday and Saturday night.
