Brockville – With Remembrance Day coming up on Tuesday, Jason Ross and the Ross Clan are back this year for the fifth “Rucksack March for Remembrance” this Saturday, November 8th.

The event, hosted by Wounded Warriors Canada, aims to raise awareness and funds for the organization’s programs, including those for families dealing with occupational stress. The march involves carrying a weighted rucksack to honour the sacrifices of those who have served.

The march gets underway between 9:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., starting from the Prescott Legion and travelling west on County Road 2 and arriving in Brockville around 3:00 p.m. at the Cenotaph in Downtown Brockville.

“We’re proud to continue supporting this amazing cause in honour of our veterans and first responders. Their sacrifices and service deserve our deepest respect, and events like this help ensure they get the care and support they need,” said Ross. “We’d love for you to join us in showing your support again this year, whether by walking alongside us, spreading the word, or contributing to the cause. Every step makes a difference.”

The Rucksack March for Remembrance is an annual nationwide event that raises awareness and funds for Wounded Warriors Canada. Participants in the main march carry a 22 kg pack over a 22 km distance, a symbolic tribute to the challenges faced by veterans.

The event helps fund mental health programs and services for veterans, first responders, and their loved ones across Canada.
