
Portland – A single vehicle collision led to impaired driving charges for a 17-year-old from Portland.
On Wednesday, November 19, 2025, shortly after 12:00 a.m., a member of the Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was approached by an individual reporting a single vehicle collision where the driver was trapped.
Leeds OPP were assisted by Leeds and Grenville Paramedic Services and Rideau Lakes Fire Department. The lone driver was extricated and sustained only minor injuries. The driver provided breath samples well over the legal limit.
As a result of the investigation, the driver has been charged with the following offences:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration
- Driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available
- Novice driver – blood alcohol concentration above zero
The accused’s identity is protected by the Youth Criminal Justice Act and cannot be disclosed. The accused was released on conditions and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville at a later date.
