VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS: Braves Won 2-1 Over Kemptville Friday Night

Brockville – “There must have been some magic in……”

A solid team effort, top to bottom, resulted in the Braves’ 2 – 1 win over the Kemptville 73s. I don’t know if there was a causal-effect relationship, but the Braves did have a team-building workshop this week with Theresa Bailey, and they played one of their better games this season.

VIDEO Highlights:

It didn’t hurt that Nate Galbraith stood on his head a few times to thwart the onrushing 73s. I said top to bottom, and I meant it. The D corps kept the visitors at bay and also led some spirited rushes. The hometown players made their presence felt and logged ice time in many critical situations.

The vets were a force and generated numerous scoring chances. Ryan “The Rat” McNally tried his best to jam the puck in the corner of the net in the first and did everything except have that darn puck cross the line. Peter “The Big Train” Legostaev had another good game and skated his heart out.

Hard luck, Jesse Lumsden had the puck roll off his stick while staring at an empty cage on a nice 2 on 1 break. And how about that acceleration as Aidyn Carolan sped away from a Kemptville defender, streaked in the 73s goal and notched his 4th of the year.

Vohra, Dirvish and Lowry worked their butts off, and Jack Lowry’s effort earned him the winning goal.

Need I say anymore about Nate Galbraith’s diving save in the dying seconds of the game? Whew!
