Carleton Place – The Braves braintrust has clawed a little deeper into La Belle Province and acquired 18-year-old Hugo Brisebois (Breezer) from the Granby L’Indigo. To say his debut with the Braves was less than impressive would be the understatement of the year, as they won 6-2 over Carleton Place on Wednesday night.
Video Highlights:
Three (3) goals and two (2) assists are quite a first-night accumulation. For his efforts, Hugo was selected 1st star of the game. Ryan “The Rat” McNally had a pair of assists to earn the 3rd star.
We had three other markers last night as well. Aidan Carolan continued his fine play along with Jesse Lumsden and picked up his 5th goal of the year. The new, mature Kayden Buller stretched his goal production to 9. Matt Vohra added his 4th since joining the Braves.
Of course, it wasn’t all offence; Nate Galbraith was steady between the pipes, and the D corps in general kept the Canadians in check.
The Pembroke Lumber Kings are in town tonight, and although they are struggling on the ice, with only 4 wins, 2 of those have come against the Braves. Let’s hope the combination of that high-octane offence, stingy defence, and rock-solid goaltending can turn that around.
The game gets underway at 7:30 pm at the Memorial Centre.
