
Brockville – The Brockville Angels’ February Freeze Girls Hockey Tournament is being held this weekend in the city from Friday, January 30th to Sunday, February 1st.
Sixty-seven teams, along with over 1000 players from across eight divisions, will be participating in this weekend’s tournament. There will be teams from Cornwall, Ottawa, Kingston, Clarence-Rockland, Russell, Gatineau, Glengarry, Oshawa, Burlington, Eastern Quebec, Laval, Trenton area, and local teams from Gananoque, Kemptville, Smiths Falls and Brockville.
The eight divisions are U9 HL, U11 HL, U11 C, U13 HL, U15 HL, U15 C, U18 HL, and U18 C.
The tournament will take place at four area rinks, Brockville Memorial Centre, Brockville Centennial Youth Arena, Alaine Chartrand Community Centre in Prescott and Athens Centre 76.
The February Freeze Girls Hockey Tournament is the largest fundraiser for the Brockville Angels Girls Hockey Association.
Everything kicks off this Friday at 8:00 am with the first three games: U11-HL Brockville Angels vs the Cornwall Typhoons at the Alaine Chartrand Community Centre in Prescott, U11-C the Brockville Angels vs the Kanata Rangers at the Brockville Centennial Youth Arena and U13 HL Brockville Angels vs the Cornwall Typhoons at the Brockville Memorial Centre.
The championship games will begin at 3:00 pm on Sunday.
