Athens – The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville is providing an update on the G. Tackaberry and Family Long‑Term Care Home. Although construction of the home was completed earlier this year, with a ribbon‑cutting ceremony held in January, the facility is not yet open to residents.
Work is ongoing to ensure the home is fully prepared to welcome residents as soon as approval is granted by the Ministry of Long‑Term Care. Final readiness activities, safety and quality checks, and the remaining provincial requirements continue to move forward. The Counties appreciates the community’s strong interest in this project and thanks residents for their patience as this important work is completed.
The Counties remains committed to opening the G. Tackaberry and Family Long‑Term Care Home as soon as possible and will provide further updates once a confirmed move‑in date is established.
A report outlining the challenges and delays encountered during the project will be presented to Counties Council in April.
