Gananoque – Police reports from the Gananoque Police Service from April 1 to May 6, 2026.

Breach of Probation:

On April 1st, 2026, officers on patrol observed a person breaching their probation conditions by being in the company of a victim they were not to have contact with.

The 34-year-old from Gananoque was arrested and charged with Fail to comply with probation order x2. They were released on an undertaking with conditions.

Assault:

On April 7th, 2026, a youth attended the station to report an assault that had occurred in the bathroom of a local business.

As a result of the investigation, a 15-year-old youth was arrested and charged with Assault, Assault with a weapon, Fail to comply with sentence, Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm x2, Forcible confinement, Overcome resistance by attempting to choke, suffocate or strangle another person.

They were held in custody for a show cause bail hearing.

Spousal Assault:

On April 26th, 2026, officers of the Gananoque Police Service responded to an unknown emergency after receiving multiple 9-1-1 calls. Upon arrival, officers located two parties involved in a dispute.

Further investigation revealed that the victim had been assaulted throughout the day by their partner. As a result, a 44-year-old person from Gananoque was arrested and charged with Assault – spousal.

They were held in custody for a show cause bail hearing.

Impaired Driving:

On May 6th, 2026, officers conducting follow-up on an investigation observed a vehicle driving recklessly, nearly striking the marked police cruiser and two officers.

The vehicle was located at a residence a short distance away, where officers noted damage to a plant pot caused by the vehicle entering the driveway. The driver showed signs of impairment and as a result they were placed under arrest.

The 58-year-old person from Gananoque was charged with Operation while impaired – alcohol and/or drugs, Failure or refusal to comply with demand. They were released on an appearance notice and a mandatory 90-day license suspension. The vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
