
Brockville – The Ottawa Safety Council is celebrating Crossing Guard Appreciation Week this week.
Brockville’s 2025–2026 Crossing Guard of the Year has been announced as Debbie Bugden.
The City of Brockville honoured Debbie this week.
For more than 20 years, Debbie has helped keep students and families safe at St. John Bosco Catholic School and Vanier Public School, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to her community and the children she serves each day.

“Debbie’s dedication, reliability, and friendly presence have made a positive impact on generations of Brockville families and are a wonderful example of the important role crossing guards play in creating safer school communities,” said the Ottawa Safety Council. “A special thank you to Patrick and the City of Brockville Ontario for assisting with the award presentation and helping us recognize Debbie’s outstanding service.”
