ATHENS – The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville is pleased to announce that construction activity related to the previously announced child care expansion project at Maple View Lodge will begin on, Monday, July 27, 2026.
The work marks the next step in the development of new licensed child care spaces at Maple View Lodge and will initially focus on preparing the designated area for future construction activities.
The safety, comfort and well-being of Maple View Lodge residents remains the top priority throughout the project. Extensive planning has been undertaken to ensure construction activities have minimal impact on residents, their daily routines and the delivery of care and services.
“Every precaution has been taken to ensure this work can proceed safely while maintaining the high quality of life our residents enjoy each day,” said Al Horsman, Chief Administrative Officer. “Project planning has focused on minimizing disruptions and ensuring resident activities and day-to-day living continue uninterrupted.”
Construction crews and project staff will work closely with Maple View Lodge leadership to manage activity on-site and maintain a safe environment for residents, staff, visitors and contractors.
The current phase of work is primarily focused on site and space preparation. Additional updates will be provided to residents, families, staff and the community as the project advances and key milestones are reached.
The child care expansion project reflects the Counties’ ongoing commitment to increasing access to high-quality child care spaces.
