To Be Held July 21st at the Brockville Country Club!
Brockville – The annual Brockville Country Club Senior Men’s Invitational will be played on Friday, July 21st with an anticipated field of 100 golfers. Our goal is to run a quality tournament for players 50+ years of age and also raise some funds for the United Way of Leeds & Grenville.
NHL Hall of Famer Larry Robinson will return as our Honorary Chair to both play in the tournament and provide some signed memorabilia for participants. Larry will be joined by former Montreal teammates from the 1985-86 Stanley Cup champions, Guy Carbonneau and Rick Green. All three will be available to sign some Canadiens’ gear in support of the United Way of Leeds & Grenville at the tournament dinner.
The annual Brockville Country Club Senior Men’s Invitational, which will be played on Friday, July 21st, just took on some more NHL alumni star power as Larry Robinson will be joined by former Montreal teammates Rick Green and Guy Carbonneau.
NHL Hall of Famer Larry Robinson is a 10-time Stanley Cup champion as a player, coach and technical advisor. He played 17 seasons for the Montreal Canadiens and finished his career with the Los Angeles Kings. Robinson was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1995 after playing 1384 NHL games.
Rick Green was a teammate of Larry Robinson In Montreal winning a Stanley Cup together in 1985-86. Green played 6 years with the Washington Capitals, 7 years with the Canadiens and one year each with the Detroit Red Wings and New York Islanders. He was also an assistant coach for the Islanders, Kings and Canadiens. Rick Green played 845 regular-season NHL games.
Guy Carbonneau played 13 seasons with the Canadiens, 1 season with the St. Louis Blues and finished his career with the Dallas Stars where he played for 5 seasons. Carbonneau was a teammate of Robinson and Green on the 1985-86 Stanley Cup Canadiens. He won another Stanley Cup with Montreal and one with the Dallas Stars, playing a total of 1318 NHL games. Carbonneau also spent some time as a coach and in management. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2019.
The event entry fee will cover lunch, free practice balls at the range, 18 holes of tournament golf and a power cart, a complimentary beverage from a craft brewery, dinner and prizes worth over $5000. Golfers will compete for gross and net score prizes in four age categories: 50-59; 60-69; 70-79; and 80+. An accredited Golf Canada handicap will be required for all players.
There are three registration categories: $75 for BCC members with a cart package; $95 for BCC members without a cart package; and $140 for guests. All prices shown include HST.
