Brockville – A film crew was in Downtown Brockville on Thursday shooting scenes for a romantic comedy made-for-tv movie.
The film’s working title is “Love is In The Air’, a Hallmark ‘like’ film but that will probably change. Four locations had Brockville doubling as the fictional town of Hazelton.
The Director, Max McGuire who is working for Ottawa-based Fireside Pictures has family ties to Brockville, his grandparents used to own a house on Victoria Ave. in the city. He currently lives and works in Ottawa.
Also, long-time family friend, City Councilor Jeff Earl has been coaxing McGuire to film in Brockville.
The film is mainly being shot in Ottawa with the final day of shooting taking place today in Ottawa. There is no date set yet for the film airing but it is expected to air sometime in the fall.
The film crew filmed at four different locations on Thursday, in front of City Hall, in front of the old Woolworths Building, The Brockville Arts Centre and the mini park behind City Hall.
This is not the first time McGuire has filmed in Brockville, it is actually his third time.
McGuire is a writer and director and some of his past projects have been financed or distributed by; Netflix, Bron Studios, Telefilm Canada, Ontario Media Development Corp, Hallmark, Lifetime, Tubi, CBC TV, UPtv, Canada Council for the Arts, the Harold Greenberg Fund and a number other international distributors.
