JOHNSTOWN – The Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal is proud to announce that Alantra Leasing, a leading manufacturer of prefabricated and modular buildings, has joined the Johnstown Industrial Park community. Alantra Leasing recently acquired 6.3 acres of land in the Township’s industrial park, which is home to some of the largest manufacturing and distribution companies in the region.
The Township’s Mayor and Council met with members of Alantra’s team in a brief welcome ceremony on Monday, November 6th, prior to their monthly Committee of the Whole – Community Development meeting, held in the South Edwardsburgh Community Centre on Sutton Drive.
Alantra Leasing’s buildings are known for their quality and durability, and the company offers quick build solutions for a variety of applications including office space, homes, hotels, and cottages. Additionally, the company provides a range of rental and custom-built lunchrooms, washrooms, offices, well-site trailers, and other buildings to meet the unique needs of its clients.
The Johnstown Industrial Park is an ideal location for manufacturing and distribution businesses, due to its proximity to the 401 and 416 highways, as well as the CN railway and the Port of Johnstown. Alantra’s new neighbours include large-scale manufacturing facilities Greenfield Global and Prysmian Group and a state-of-the-art distribution centre for Giant Tiger.
The Township’s Mayor and Council welcome the company. “Alantra is the perfect addition to the Johnstown Industrial Park and Edwardsburgh Cardinal Community. We welcome the innovation, quality and customer-centred approach they bring to the construction industry,” shares Mayor Tory Deschamps. “We do not doubt that Alantra will have much success in their new location and we look forward to being part of the next chapter for this growing business.”
The Township’s land was part of Ontario’s Investment Ready: Certified Site program as a readily serviceable site that is appropriately zoned and free of major development constraints. The 6.3 acres is the second land sale by the Township under the program.
Alantra Leasing will construct an expandable 16,500 sq ft facility on their new site, creating some job opportunities for local residents. Initially, the company will employ six staff members, with additional staff needed based on business volume and potential expansion. President and General Manager Marcus Dewinter shares that the company looks forward to getting settled in Edwardsburgh Cardinal and plans to move forward with construction as soon as possible.
Alantra Leasing is a family-owned company that has been operating since 1981, with its head office located in Sussex, New Brunswick. The company has a strong reputation for quality, professionalism, customer service, and innovation. Their new site in Edwardsburgh Cardinal Township will be one of 12 other sites located throughout Eastern Canada, including locations in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, PEI, Quebec, Ontario, and Newfoundland & Labrador. Alantra Leasing’s prefabricated panels and modular buildings offer a budget-friendly and environmentally conscious solution to construction projects, with limited waste and faster construction schedules.
