South Nation Conservation (SNC) is establishing a Watershed Advisory Committee in 2024 to replace the previous Standing Committees that reported to SNC’s Board of Directors (Clean Water, Forestry, Fish and Wildlife, and Communications).
The new Committee will be comprised of 24 members to capture the scope of stakeholders represented in previous advisory committees to support the development and implementation of SNC’s environment programs and services.
The Watershed Advisory Committee would meet four times per year, once each quarter, and will report to SNC’s Board of Directors which is comprised of local elected officials appointed by SNC’s 16 member municipalities.
Committee recruitment began in December 2023 and interested and qualified residents are encouraged to apply by completing an application form and submitting their resume by January 26th, 2024.
SNC is seeking dedicated community members with experience or interest in the environmental sector who will be willing to volunteer their time and expertise to support their local environment. Meeting allowances are provided to Committee members and volunteerism is encouraged.
