Doors Open Thousand Islands Invites Residents and Visitors to Explore What’s Behind the Doors

Residents and visitors are invited to discover the people, places, and stories that help shape our community during Doors Open Thousand Islands on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Presented as part of the Doors Open Ontario program in collaboration with the Ontario Heritage Trust, this free, one-day event offers a unique opportunity to step inside some of Brockville’s most interesting buildings and community spaces.
From historic landmarks and places of worship to municipal facilities, cultural venues, local businesses, and community organizations, participating sites will open their doors to provide visitors with a behind-the-scenes look at the spaces that contribute to Brockville’s identity and day-to-day operations.

Each location offers a unique experience, allowing visitors to learn more about local history, architecture, culture, community services, and the work happening behind the scenes every day. Participants are encouraged to customize their experience by visiting one site or creating their own self-guided tour of multiple locations throughout the day.
In addition to showcasing Brockville’s rich heritage, the event aims to foster a greater appreciation for the many organizations, volunteers, and municipal staff who help keep the community thriving.
Admission to all participating sites is free.
