DESCRIPTION:The Friends of Fulford Place Association are holding their second annual juried art show and sale this weekend. \nIt runs Friday\, May 3rd from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm\, Saturday\, May 4th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and Sunday\, May 5th from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. \nOver fifty artists are submitting their work\, showcasing the area’s local talent. \nA meet and greet with the artists is being held on Friday\, May 3rd from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm \nOn Saturday and Sunday\, the exhibit space will be open for visitors to peruse the art and maybe purchase a piece for themselves. \nThis is a fundraiser for Fulford Place Museum.

DESCRIPTION:The Brockville Theatre Guild is proud to announce that they are hosting their first annual one-act play festival\, Three Companies One-Act Weekend. \nThree local theatre groups will be performing a one-act play of their own as part of this festival being held on Friday\, May 3rd and Saturday\, May 4th at The Arts Hub\, formerly St. John’s United Church\, Park Street\, Brockville. Show times are 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday night with a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday. \nTickets are available at the door for $20 each. \nThe plays vary in length with a total running time of 75 minutes with a short intermission between each to allow for sets to be struck and assembled. Audiences will get to see all 3 plays at the evening performances with only two at the matinee. \nIn true festival form\, each group will be timed for their set up and take down. Audiences will have the opportunity to observe this process.

SUMMARY:Fort Town Night Run 2024: STAR WARS theme: Prescott Rebels
DESCRIPTION:After 8 years and over 1700 runners raising over $ 40\,000 for local charities\, the Fort Town Night Run will hold its final event on May 4th\, 2024 in Prescott. \nThe final year of the Run\, it once again falls on May 4th\, so since the Start Wars theme was so popular in the past\, the organizers decided to embrace it once again. Along with the races\, there will be Star Wars reenactors\, costume contests\, food vendors\, and music by Mystery Machine DJ Service. \nThis year\, the Kids 1K Fun Run will have 4 age categories and distances: 5 & under run 50 m\, 6-7 run 100 m\, 8-9 run 200 m\, and 10-13 years old have a 1 km route around the perimeter of Fort Wellington property. Youth participants all receive a medal and there are prizes for the first-place finisher. \nThere will be a 5k Walk/Run\, a 10K and a 15K Run. The 15K leaves the Leo Boivin Community Centre at 8:00 pm\, the 10K at 8:10 pm\, and the 5K at 8:20 pm and all runs follow the scenic and historic loop around Prescott\, including the Heritage Waterfront Trail\, Riverwalk Park\, Centennial Park\, and about 40 heritage houses and landmarks in town. The registration deadline to guarantee a t-shirt is April 8. There are prizes for the top finishers in the above 18+-year-old and 17 and below categories.
