DESCRIPTION:The 2023 South Grenville Bluegrass Festival – August 10th to Sunday\, 13th at the Spencerville Fairgrounds. \nThe entertainment lineup for this weekend will include: \nThe Fiddlaires\nFreddy Vette and the Rhinestone Plowboys\nCountry Road 44\nGrass Under Fire\nLarry Efaw and the Bluegrass Mountaineers from Ohio\nBill White & White Pine\nCarson Peters and Iron Mountain from Tennessee\nKevin Prater Band from Kentucky\nTyler Comeau and Highway 10\nThe Monroe Sisters \nAdmission for the festival: \nWeekend/Camping Pass – $100 at the gate per person \nDay Passes: \nThursday\, Aug. 10th – $15\nFriday\, Aug. 11th – $30\nSaturday\, Aug. 12th – $25 and then $40 after 6:00 pm\nSunday\, Aug. 13th – $20 \nThere will be breakfast available each morning starting at 7:00 am. \nOpening Ceremonies are being held on Friday starting at 6:00 pm. SUMMARY:Brockville Museum's Talk & Tea - Brockville Arts Centre
DESCRIPTION:This week’s Talk & Tea will explore the history of the Brockville Arts Centre – Thursday\, August 10 @ 2 pm\n\n\n\nThe building was originally built in 1858 as the town hall\, but part of the building opened as an Opera House in the 1880s. The building was renovated and reopened as “The New Theatre” in 1911\, and after being closed through the 1930s\, reopened as “The Regent Theatre” in 1939. In 1960 it was again renovated and reopened as the Civic Auditorium. More renovations in 1975 added the present-day lobby area. It was renamed the Brockville Arts Centre in 1990 and was refurbished in 2008.\n\n\n\nFor more on this building’s complicated and rich history (which includes several fires!)\, come to our Talk & Tea\, Thursday\, August 10 at 2 pm at the museum. Admission to the program is $5 and includes a cup of tea.\n\n\nA great photo from c1950 of the building\, then “The Regent Theatre”.\n\n\nDo you remember this building as the Regent Theatre?
