DESCRIPTION:The annual Merrickville Classic Car Show is being held on Sunday\, July 17th\, at the Merrickville Fairgrounds. \nThe car show runs from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm and will include hourly door prizes\, 50/50 draw\, great music\, and good food and of course all your favourite cars. \nIt will feature classic cars\, trucks\, fire trucks\, sports cars\, race cars\, customs\, and rat rods will be shown during this one-day extravaganza. \nThere will also be Paul Elias pinstriping demonstrations\, a BBQ by the Merrickville Fire Department\, Amphicar demonstrations with Steve and Ozzy\, and music by Merrickville’s Southbound band. \nPaulo and Shannon Giust are bringing their “Black Betty” record-holding Camaro race car for everyone to check out. There will be a 50/50 draw in benefit of the Merrickville Food Cupboard\, half-hourly draws for over $1600 in wonderful door prizes\, “Thunder Alley” contest for the vehicle with the loudest pipes and manufacturers\, vendors\, and swap meet entrepreneurs. \nGeneral admission for cool rides is only $10 a carload. Walk-up spectators are free. \nPLEASE NOTE: All activities in this event will take place at the Fairgrounds. SUMMARY:42nd Annual Athens CORNFEST Saturday\, August 16th
DESCRIPTION:After a year off due to a lack of volunteers\, the 42nd annual Athens CORNFEST is back this Saturday\, August 16th and for the first time at Centennial Park. \nThe free event is being held from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and will feature live music\, children’s games\, a free petting zoo\, face painting\, a Corn Hole Tournament\, vendors and crafts and of course\, corn on the cob. \nThe popular Children’s parade will start at 10:00 am at Centre 76 parking lot. Children will walk and ride around the southern half of the track at Centennial Park.
