DESCRIPTION:We are back for our 4th Annual Brockville Magedomas Old Timers HockeyFest. \nDue to renovations taking place in the month of March 2026 at our local Memorial Center Arena in Brockville\, the 2026 HockeyFest event will be relocated to Prescott with all games being played in the beautiful Alaine Chartrand Community Center. \nIn three short weeks\, 8 teams from Canada and the USA will hit the ice on March 24th and 25th at the Alaine Chartrand Community Centre in Prescott to play the game we all love. \nVisiting teams tell us that they enjoy our 4th Annual HockeyFest event for it’s recreational fun loving format\, as well as the food\, fun and the opportunity to play with like minded old timer hockey fanatics!! \nWe’re proud to say that we’ve been told it’s one of the most organized and smooth running events that our visiting teams have ever played in!! \n​Along with our 2 Brockville Magedoma teams (Brian’s Beaut’s and Pete’s Pistols)\, we will again be welcoming 6 hockey loving old timers teams to join in the fun!\nIn addition to those from Kingston (Buccaneers)\, Westport (Rideaus)\, Kemptville (Rockets) (Ontario) and Pontiac (Old Timers) (Quebec) who have been there pretty much from the beginning\, this year we welcome a few newcomers! \nWe’re looking forward to hosting some new friends from the PresQu’ile (Pirates) (Ontario) as well as the Rochester Americans (USA)! \nFor the fourth year in a row our registration list is overflowing and we could not be more excited. \nOnce again\, we will be playing hockey and\, with the help of our sponsors and fans\, raising funds to help the Weekender Program for Students.

DESCRIPTION:The Santa Run has been cancelled\, but everything else is a go! \nLace up your walking shoes\, grab your Santa hat or ugly sweater and get ready to make spirits bright at the Santa Paws Walk in support of the Ontario SPCA Leeds & Grenville Animal Centre. \nThis festive fundraising event takes place this Saturday\, Nov. 15\, from 12 noon to 3 p.m. at the Mac Johnson Wildlife Area in Brockville. \nThere was a 6.5-kilometre Santa Run scheduled for Saturday along with the walk\, but the run was cancelled after low registration. \nA dog-friendly social will take place from 12 noon to 3 p.m.\, featuring a 3km walk along the trails\, bonfire\, canteen\, photo booth\, and a variety of local vendors offering purr-fect holiday gifts and treats for pets and people alike. \nWhile there is no cost to attend the social\, donations are encouraged to help make the season merry and bright for animals in need. \n“Join us on the beautiful trails of Mac Johnson Wildlife Area for a fun and festive way to help local animals in need\,” says Katelyn Stojadinov\, Community Outreach Coordinator with the Ontario SPCA Leeds & Grenville Animal Centre “The Ontario SPCA and Humane Society is a registered charity that is 100 per cent donor funded\, so every dollar raised helps give animals in our community a second chance.” \nDogs are welcome to attend the afternoon festivities. \nGet ready for some ho-ho-howliday fun and help make tails wag this season.

DESCRIPTION:The 17th annual 1000 Islands Regatta & Festival is being held June 27th\, 28th & 29th along the shores of the St. Lawrence River in Brockville. \nThe event will feature two days of Hydroplane racing\, live music\, as well as a Kids zone\, vendors and food vendors in Downtown Brockville. \nEverything gets underway on Friday at 5:00 pm when the gates open. Friday’s musical lineup is Twin Turbos\, then the Road Apples\, a Tragically Hip tribute band\, taking the stage\, finishing up with Honeymoon Suite. \nSaturday night’s music lineup is Dirty Little Alibi\, Eastbound of Bytown and Shania Twin. \nOn both Saturday & Sunday\, the gates open at 9:00 am with the hydroplane races being held from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm each day. \nThe classes racing this weekend will include Novice\, JSS (Jersey Speed Skiff)\, 2.5L\, F2500\, H350\, Pro Hydro and Grand Prix. \nFor tickets and more information on this weekend’s regatta\, please visit: https://www.1000-islandsregatta.com/
