DESCRIPTION:The South Grenville Food Bank is raising the stakes in the fight against hunger with an exciting fundraising event\, “Casino Gala to Fight Hunger”\, taking place on Friday\, September 26 from 7:00 to 10:00 PM at the Leo Boivin Centre in Prescott. \nThis unforgettable night includes casino-style games\, dancing to live music by “Sun Dried Flies”\, delicious hors d’oeuvres\, and exciting raffle and auction prizes. Tickets are $50 and include food\, playing chips\, and entertainment\, with all event proceeds supporting the South Grenville Food Bank’s vital programs in Prescott\, Edwardsburgh/Cardinal\, and Augusta. The Prescott Fire Department will also be on site running the cash bar\, with proceeds supporting their own community initiatives. \nAs an added bonus\, anyone who purchases a ticket by August 26 will be entered into an exclusive Early Bird Draw to win a limo ride to the gala for up to eight people (courtesy of Howard Bus Service)\, a professional photo shoot on arrival with AMayesZing Photography\, and a $30 cab voucher for the ride home. \n“We wanted to create something fun and exciting to bring the community together\, while raising much-needed funds\,” says Bonnie Pidgeon\, Executive Director of the South Grenville Food Bank. “We’re seeing more families accessing our services than ever before\, and events like this help us continue to meet that need with dignity and care.” \nThe South Grenville Food Bank supports hundreds of local families each month through its locations throughout South Grenville. DESCRIPTION:The 10th Annual Delta Harvest Festival is being held at the Delta Fairgrounds and other locations throughout the village on Saturday\, September 27th \nThere will be a craft sale from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Delta Fairgrounds\, tours\, a quilt show\, a bread contest\, a bread tasting\, and fresh baking at the Old Stone Mill from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm with a milling demonstration at 1:00 pm. \nThe Blacksmith Shop will hold blacksmithing demonstrations from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm\, with a garden market & crafts in front. The Delta Fire Hall Museum will be open from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm\, and the DRAS Recreation Centre is hosting a Cornhole tourney starting at 9:00 am. \nThere will also be a yard sale at St. Paul’s Anglican Church from 9:00 am to noon. A Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament at Lower Beverly Lake Park at 1:00 pm.\, and a Scarecrow contest display at Russell Greenspace all day. \nThere will be farmers market and vendors all day throughout the village\, a car show and Jackpot Barrel racing & pole bending. \nA 50/50 raffle will also be held and musical entertainment will be provided by Jeff Code and the Silver Wings band.
