DESCRIPTION:Five new inductees to the Brockville and Area Sports Hall of Fame will be honoured during the awards dinner. \nBeing inducted this year are: \n\nDarren Burns\, a star with the Braves and a longtime coach at Acadia University.\nKevin MacDonald with an enthusiastic 10-year career in minor pro hockey.\nWhit Prophet\, a coach in high school gymnastics and track and field before devoting his time to the CCHL.\nJacquelin Rasenberg\, a talented multi-sport athlete at Brockville Collegiate\, who starred in firefighter challenges.\nStan Smith\, a prolific 10-pin bowler who turned professional and worked tirelessly for the sport in Brockville.\n\nThe five newest inductees bring the total on the wall of the Memorial Centre hall to 170 in the 31st year of the existence of the Brockville and Area Sports Hall of Fame. \nThis year’s inductees will be officially inducted into the sports hall of fame during a ceremony being held on Friday\, June 13\, at the Memorial Centre starting at 5:30 pm.

DESCRIPTION:The Children’s Services Department of the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville\, in partnership with the City of Brockville and the United Way of Leeds and Grenville\, is excited to announce the return of the annual TOUCH A TRUCK event and BBQ. \nThis family-friendly event will take place this Friday\, August 16th\, 2024\, at the Brockville Memorial Centre parking lot\, located at 100 Magedoma Blvd in Brockville. \nParents\, grandparents\, and caregivers are invited to bring their children and grandchildren to this FREE event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to explore and interact with a variety of vehicles\, including those from emergency services\, construction\, public transportation\, and more. \nParking will be available at the Memorial Centre\, with overflow parking provided in the back parking lot of Brockville’s Canadian Tire.
