SUMMARY:Rideau St Lawrence Science Fair 2025
DESCRIPTION:The 2025 Rideau St Lawrence Science Fair is taking place Thursday\, April 10\, at the North Grenville Municipal Centre\, 285 County Road 44\, in Kemptville. \nJudging took place at 9:00 am this morning\, and the fair is open to the public from 11:00 am. \nThe Awards Ceremony will start at approximately 3:00 pm in the Theatre. \nThere are 70 STEM projects ready to be presented by the youth of Leeds\, Grenville and Lanark Counties. \nThe Rideau-St. Lawrence Science Fair is open to students who are under the age of 21\, in Leeds\, Grenville or Lanark Counties and are in Grades 7 to OAC. \nThe Fair began in 1962 and was organised by a group of scientists and engineers from DuPont Canada. Since then\, they have welcomed many officials and participants from Lanark\, Leeds and Grenville’s teaching\, medical\, scientific\, and technical community. Without their dedicated work and support\, the Fair would not happen. \nMany of the participants have gone on to the Canada-Wide Science Fair (CWSF)\, where\, despite our small size\, they have enjoyed great success. The CWSF participants have won Best of Fair\, Gold\, Silver and Bronze medals\, scholarships\, monetary prizes\, trips and special tours. These projects all required an idea with a good question\, some research and hard work. SUMMARY:15th Annual North Grenville Sustainability Fair and EV Show
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, May 5th from 10am to 3pm\n \nThe family-friendly event is free and open to the public. Taking place at the North Grenville Municipal Centre Community Rooms and Arena\, the Theatre will host presentations and workshops throughout the event. (more details to follow)\n \nIn addition to the local and sustainable shopping options in the Market Hall\, the Sustainability Presentations\, and the Electric Vehicle Show\, the Fair is also an excellent opportunity to experience an earful of Local Music and a taste of Local Food.\n \nThe usual space showcasing electric vehicles will be there\, along with space in the arena for the returning Greening Your Home exhibitors’ space. Speak to businesses this year for energy-efficient home renovation information – specifically addressing the climate change issue.\n \nEfforts are underway to make the EV show better than before\, with local dealerships participating and new participation from local groups to enable test drives and rides in electric vehicles. Many owners will be there to answer questions and some of the latest and most exciting models will be on display. Come see if it makes sense for you and how much money you could save.
