Brockville – Another strong effort by the Braves but they suffer another loss, losing to the Cornwall Colts 5-2 Friday night.
The coaching staff have worked hard to maintain a positive attitude among the players and it appears to be successful.
The great game last night, on the heels of last Friday’s game versus Carleton Place shows the team is not just going through the motions, not just showing up and “having fun”, but man for man they are developing a will-to-win attitude.
The pundits were forecasting a lopsided Colt’s win last night, the D-Corps was down to 4 players, and we only had 11 forwards. Not a recipe for success.
Edouard Piche, who has been in the wings all season, made his first start in goal and was outstanding.
A couple of the new bodies, Lumsden and Legostaev scored the goals for the Braves last night. We had some great performances from the regulars as well. Aidan Carolan displayed his “lead by example” strategy as Captain with a strong game. Kayden Buller impresses our group of long-toothed fans, game in and game out. Jesse Lumsden is rapidly becoming a fan favourite.
Ryan McNally has been operating on high octane since coming over from the Kings, posting a point a game. Kimani Eccleston is a force every shift. The depleted D-Men did yeoman service last night in providing defensive support for Piche. We really enjoy the offensive side of Alex Rak.
No rest for the weary, onto the Nation’s Capital tonight to play the Junior Senators. Game time is 7:30 pm.
