Brockville – The Ontario government’s Standing Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs was in Brockville on Tuesday hearing from various local groups and municipalities ahead of the 2024 provincial budget.
The standing committee heard from 17 different presenters at its Brockville session. They ranged from local organizations or individuals, such as Brockville General Hospital and Gananoque Mayor John Beddows, to provincial entities such as the OFL and the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation, and nationwide organizations like the David Suzuki Foundation and the Canadian Federation of Independent Business.
Both Mayor Matt Wren and Nick Vlacholias, president and chief executive officer of Brockville General Hospital spoke to the group at the Aquatarium.
