Brockville – Police reports from the Brockville Police Service from February 10th to 12th, 2024.
Call to Assist Paramedics Leads to Outstanding Warrant Arrest:
On February 10, 2024, at about 3:00 am, police received a call to a residence on Pine St. to assist Paramedics with an agitated male who had locked himself in the residence. Police attended and identified a 23-year-old, male at the residence, who eventually was co-operative.
The male advised he felt as if people were watching him and he was admittedly experiencing drug withdrawals. This male was also known to be wanted on outstanding charges, stemming from an incident where he failed to stop by police on February 8, 2024. He was arrested for dangerous operation of a vehicle, flight from police and failure to comply with probation.
He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
R.I.D.E. Program Removes an Impaired Driver from the Road:
On February 11, 2024, at about 11:45 pm, the Brockville Police Service was conducting a R.I.D.E. Program, on William St. At that time, a 35-year-old, male was stopped by officers while operating his vehicle. There were signs of alcohol consumption and officers requested a roadside screening breath sample. The test sample resulted in a failure.
The driver was placed under arrest and taken to the Brockville Police Service for further testing. There it was confirmed that the male was operating the vehicle with over 80mg of alcohol. His vehicle was impounded, his driver’s licence suspended and charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80mg. He was released on conditions and a future court date.
Impaired Driver Removed from Road:
On February 12, 2024, at about 6:30 am, officers were on patrol and received a call of a suspicious-looking vehicle in the area of Church St. Officers located the vehicle in question and found a 45-year-old, female asleep at the wheel of her car. Investigation revealed that she was in fact impaired by drugs and in possession of various substances.
She was placed under arrest and taken to the Brockville Police Service for further testing. Later, the tests confirmed her impairment. Her vehicle was impounded, her driver’s licence was suspended and charged with operation while impaired by drugs, possession of Cocaine and possession of over 30g of dried cannabis.
She was released with conditions and a future court date.
Female Arrested for Assault:
On February 12, 2024, at about 10:45 pm, police received a call to a residence on Buell St., in regards to a male who had been assaulted. Investigation revealed that the male was there in an attempt to visit another person as the building is a multi-unit dwelling.
Another resident identified to be a 44-year-old, female did not want this male at the residence. An argument ensued where she attempted to tell him to leave. She then slapped, kicked and then struck the male with a coat rack. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The female was arrested and charged with assault and assault with a weapon. She was eventually released with conditions and a future court date.
