Outstanding Warrants & Drug Bust After Traffic Stop in Gananoque Tuesday

Gananoque – The Gananoque Police Service conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Tuesday finding that two of the passengers had outstanding warrants from another Police Service.

Police say that officers placed them under arrest on the strength of their outstanding warrants, and then searched them which revealed amounts of Fentanyl and Crystal Methamphetamine. Then officers searched the vehicle and located a bag containing a large quantity of suspected illegal drugs, as well as a pistol grip shotgun.

In total, Police said they seized approximately 483 grams of confirmed fentanyl with an approximate street value of over $100,000, as well as a pistol grip tactical shotgun.

As a result, several charges have been laid;

• A 39-year-old male from Sudbury has been charged with; Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of Trafficking, Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Knowledge of an Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Methamphetamine.
• A 37-year-old female from Timmons has been charged with; Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of Trafficking, Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Knowledge of an Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.
• A 40-year-old male from Sudbury has been charged with; Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of Trafficking, Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Knowledge of an Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order.
• A 29-year-old female from Sudbury has been charged with; Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of Trafficking, Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Knowledge of an Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.
• A 28-year-old female from Gananoque was charged with; Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of Trafficking, Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Knowledge of an Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.

Gan police say all individuals were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
