Westport – The world-renowned botanist, biochemist, researcher, and author Diana Beresford-Kroeger will be offering a public talk about her latest book, “Our Green Heart,” as part of an offering by the Better Together Circle and Frontenac Arch Biosphere Network this Saturday, June 21st, in Westport.
It is being held at the Westport United Church from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, 27 Spring Street in Westport.
A $10 fee will be accepted at the door. In this inspiring culmination of Diana Beresford-Kroeger’s life’s work as botanist, biochemist, biologist and poet of the global forest, she delivers a challenge to us all to dig deeper into the science of forests and the ways they will save us from climate breakdown—and then do our part to plant and protect them.
The Canadian Geographical Society recently named her one of 25 women explorers of Canada. She is the author and presenter of a feature documentary, Call of the Forest. Currently, she is advocating on behalf of an ambitious global “bioplan” encouraging ordinary people to develop a new relationship with nature and join together to restore the global forest. Come hear her talk about her latest book, her life and her challenge to us all. Learn what we can each do in our little part of the world, 6 trees at a time. All proceeds go towards developing Little Forests in the Westport area.
You can RSVP to the event online HERE. You can find more information about Diana, her work, and images for promotional use HERE.
