1000 Islands Family Ribfest & Music Festival This Weekend in Gananoque

Gananoque – The annual 1000 Islands Family Ribfest hosted by both the Rotary and Lions Clubs of Gananoque is being held this weekend, June 27th to 29th, at the Lou Jeffries Recreation Centre.

The Rotary and Lions Clubs of Gananoque give 100 percent of the proceeds back to the community. They support charities, families and students and lead projects that positively change Gananoque and the 1000 Islands area.

The smallest community to host Ribfest in Canada welcomes over 19,000 visitors every year.

The event is open on Friday from noon until 11:00 pm, Saturday, 9:00 am to 11:00 pm and on Sunday from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm.

There will be four ribbers this year: Boss Hog’s, Jack the Ribber, Yukon Jack Barbecue Ribs and Route 55 BBQ.

It will also feature a Kidz Zone, face painting, live music, arts & craft show, Bike Rodeo, a line dance party, Fireman’s Obstacle Course and more.

The music lineup will include The BopKats – Rockabilly, The ToneKats – Classic Rock, Lost Channel – Classic Rock and The Stares – Classic Rock on Friday evening. Saturday will see River City Junction – Blue/Classic Rock, The Red-Handed Band – Classic Rock, CR5 Bluegrass, Mark J. Hunt & Brian Frommer – 50’s 80’s, The Fade Kings – R & B/Blues/Jazz/Classic Rock and The Oreozo – Pop/Rock/Funk/Disco/Rap/R & B. Sunday will see performances by Lasalle Causeway Swing Band – Swing Music, Whiskey Smoke – Country, HoozHear – Rock/Pop, The Change – Classic Rock/Pop, The Frank Ryan Band – Soulful Rock and The River Cats – Funk/Blues/Rock/County.
