Police Say the Man Wanted to be Arrested to Receive Food & Lodging!

Brockville – Brockville Police arrested a man on July 10th after receiving a 911 call about a man who had thrown a rock at the window of the Petro Canada at 325 Stewart Boulevard.
Police say around 11:15 pm, they responded to the call and located the 33-year-old man. After an investigation, police say the man was throwing rocks at the window of the gas station in an attempt to break it. The rock bounced off the window and struck and damaged another vehicle.
They also learned that the man is on multiple different forms of bail releases and three probation orders.
The man said to police that his motive for trying to break the glass was that he wanted to be arrested to receive food and lodging.
The man was arrested and held for a bail hearing to prevent further offences.
Police say he was charged with the offences of two counts of mischief under $5,000.00, three counts of fail to comply with release order, three counts of fail to comply with probation and failing to comply with recognizance.
