July 2025 Police Involvement:
In July 2025, the Brockville Police Service received 1,701 calls for service. The following are just some of the results:
- 70 arrests
- 163 Criminal Code charges
- 157 traffic-related charges
Out of the 70 Criminal Code charges, 19 are concerning failure to comply with conditions of bail release or probation order.
Intimate Partner Violence Leads to Arrest:
On August 1, 2025, at about 3:00 pm, police received a 911 call reporting a dispute between a couple at their residence on Balmoral Place. Information was that a female had been assaulted.
Investigation revealed that the female victim and her 49-year-old boyfriend had been in an argument. This escalated to the point that the male grabbed the female by the hair and neck and threw her to the floor.
The subject was arrested, and the female received non-life-threatening injuries.
The subject was held for a bail hearing after being charged with assault and failing to comply with his probation conditions.
Life Saving Measures Implemented During Overdose:
On August 4, 2025, at approximately noon, police officers were present at Lanark Leeds Grenville Mental Health and Addictions, located at 25 Front Avenue, when they were alerted to a male individual in medical distress.
Officers promptly responded and located the individual experiencing an apparent overdose. Staff members were already administering CPR when officers arrived. Police assisted by taking over CPR efforts and ensured Narcan was administered. A defibrillator was prepared but ultimately not activated, as the individual began to regain consciousness during these life-saving measures.
Paramedics arrived shortly thereafter and provided their expertise. The individual was transported to the hospital for continued treatment.
This is a great story highlighting the efforts made by staff members and officers in saving this individual’s life.
