Brockville – The Brockville and District Chamber of Commerce is proud to present the recipient of the 2025 Young Professional of the Year Award to Melissa Hindman at the 66th Awards of Excellence Gala.
A passionate advocate for positive change, Melissa has long demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the betterment of Brockville and its surrounding areas through both her career and extensive volunteer efforts.
Melissa brings a unique combination of reliability, respect, and motivation to every role she takes on. Her ability to lead with integrity and follow through on commitments makes her a trusted and admired figure in the community. As a current Board Member of the Brockville and District Chamber of Commerce and the Brockville Young Professionals Network (YPN), Melissa has helped shape the future of young leadership in the region. Her mentorship and guidance have directly inspired others to step into leadership roles.
Professionally, Melissa has served in key roles with several community-focused organizations, including Developmental Services, the Employment + Education Centre (EEC), the Downtown Brockville BIA, and, currently, United Way of Leeds & Grenville. As United Way’s Director of Resource Development, she leads fundraising efforts and strengthens donor relations, consistently bringing her deep understanding of community needs to every initiative.
Her passion for service is equally reflected in her volunteer work. Melissa actively contributes her time and energy to the Coldest Night of the Year, the Brockville Butterfly Run, community clean-ups, Toastmasters, and is a strong advocate for Queen Care, it’s a mom thing, and many other local causes. She encourages others to give back, whether through time, resources, or both, and leads by example.
Melissa’s dedication, leadership, and community focus make her a driving force in creating real, lasting impact across Brockville.
We look forward to celebrating the Young Professional of the Year with Melissa Hindman at the Awards of Excellence Gala being held on September 18th, 2025, at the Brockville Country Club, where we will also be announcing the recipients for: Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Community Excellence Award, the Tourism Award and the Ben TeKamp Award.
