Brockville – The City of Brockville has declared a total fire ban on all city-owned islands until further notice.
The following are now restricted on the islands:
- Open-air fires, such as campfires (including for cooking)
- Brush burning
- Use of fireworks
- Charcoal barbeques/hibachis
If constant supervision is maintained, cooking appliances with a mechanical shut-off, like propane barbeques or stoves, are permitted.
Take note that any violation of this ban can lead to fines or the costs associated with fighting a wildfire started by the violation.
