Brockville – On November 2, 2025, at about 1:00 am, police received a call regarding a vehicle that was parked at the intersection of King Street West and Perth Street, with the hood up. It was also described that a male was walking around the vehicle, who was described as appearing intoxicated.
Investigation revealed that there was a 36-year-old male walking around the vehicle. This subject was identified to be the driver of the vehicle.
Upon conversation, officers believed the subject to be intoxicated by drugs. A Standard Field Sobriety Test was administered, which resulted in the subject performing poorly. They were arrested and taken for additional testing by a Drug Recognition Expert.
While the Drug Recognition Expert made some determinations, during the testing, the subject became uncooperative and would not complete the testing. This resulted in the subject being charged with the following:
- Operation while impaired by drugs
- Failure or refusal to comply with the demand
- Obstruct a peace officer
- Drive a vehicle with cannabis readily available
They were released on conditions with a future court date.
