Brockville – On November 25, 2025, at about 10:45 pm, police received a call regarding a passenger on a Via Rail train coming through Brockville.
The passenger was found to have been previously trespassed from Via Rail property for causing problems on the train. The subject was also consuming their own alcohol and was intoxicated.
For the safety and concern of the other passengers, the train stopped in Brockville and police were contacted.
Officers arrived, and the investigation revealed that the subject causing the issues was a 30-year-old male from Ottawa. The subject was uncooperative with the staff and police. As a result, they were removed from the train for trespassing and arrested due to their intoxication.
As the investigation continued, Via Rail police also had evidence that the subject had uttered threats to staff previously; this was part of the reason for their trespass.
Once sober, the subject was released on conditions with a future court date for uttering threats, and issued fines for trespassing and being intoxicated in a public place.
