
Gananoque – Police reports from the Gananoque Police Service from November 1st to December 3rd, 2025.
Assault:
On November 1st, 2025, the Gananoque Police Service received a report of an assault in progress.
The complainant reported the suspect had entered their residence without permission, breaking the door and assaulting the occupants. Officers arrived and placed the 41-year-old accused from Gananoque under arrest.
They were charged with Assault with a weapon, Assault, Mischief under $5000 x2, and Fail to comply with probation order. They were held in custody for a show-cause bail hearing.
Trespassing/Liquor Violations:
On November 4th, 2025, officers on patrol observed a vehicle believed to be operated by an unlicensed driver. Before a traffic stop could be conducted, the vehicle entered private property.
An hour later, a 9-1-1 call was received of a suspicious vehicle parked at the residence that was not known to the owners. Officers entered the property and located a 57-year-old person from Gananoque asleep in the vehicle with open alcohol containers.
They were charged with Trespassing at night and given a Provincial offence notice for driving a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor. They were released on an undertaking with conditions. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
Stolen Vehicle/Fail to Comply:
On November 10th, 2025, officers on patrol observed a vehicle that had been stolen out of Napanee, Ontario. The suspect of the vehicle theft was observed shortly after and placed under arrest.
The recovered vehicle was towed, and the 26-year-old person from Tyendinaga was charged with Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000, Operation while prohibited x2, and failure to comply with probation order. They were held in custody for a show-cause bail hearing.
Theft/Fail to Comply:
On November 16th, 2025, police were called to a local business after staff recognized a shoplifter involved in a previous theft.
The 53-year-old person from Scarborough was placed under arrest upon the officer’s arrival, and was charged with Theft under $5000 x2, Fail to comply with release order x2, Fail to comply with undertaking, and Breach of recognizance.
They were released on an undertaking with conditions, to be seen in court at a later date.
Forcible Confinement/Fail to Comply:
On November 23rd, 2025, officers responded to a report of an unwanted person in a residence who was being physically aggressive.
Upon arrival, the suspect was quickly arrested, and further investigation revealed they had multiple arrest warrants from a neighbouring police service.
As a result, a 31-year-old person from Gananoque was charged with Forcible confinement, Fail to comply with release order, and Fail to comply with probation order x2. They were held in custody for a show-cause bail hearing.
Historical Assault:
On October 18th, 2025, the Gananoque Police Service received a report of a historical assault upon a child.
An extensive investigation was conducted by the officer in charge, and as a result, on November 25th, 2025, an 80-year-old person from Gananoque was arrested and charged with Assault x3.
They were released on an undertaking to be seen in court at a later date.
Fail to Comply:
On December 3rd, 2025, officers on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle.
Upon identifying the occupants, it was determined that the passenger was on charge with conditions not to be in contact with the person found to be driving the vehicle.
The 43-year-old person from Brockville was arrested and charged with Failure to comply with an undertaking and Possession of a schedule I substance –methamphetamine. They were held in custody pending a show-cause bail hearing.
