Brockville – The Brockville Fire Department says, keep fire hydrants clear this winter.
Snow and ice can quickly bury fire hydrants, making them difficult to find and use during an emergency. We ask residents and businesses to help by keeping fire hydrants on or near their property free and clear throughout the winter months.
Why it Matters:
- Clear hydrants allow firefighters to connect quickly and get water flowing without delay.
- Faster access means quicker fire suppression, helping protect homes, businesses, and lives.
- Keeping hydrants visible also improves safety for emergency crews operating in poor weather conditions.
Please clear a 3-foot area around the hydrant and a path to the street. A few minutes of shovelling can make a lifesaving difference.
Working together, we keep our community safer—thank you for your continued support!
