
Brockville – St. Mary Catholic High School held a Relay for Life on Friday, May 8th after not hosting a relay for several years.
St Mary decided to bring back Relay after not having it for several years, raising a total of $60.000 which was announced at the closing ceremonies on Friday night.
The goal for this year’s was $25,000. “We thought we could do it….but we had no idea how far we’d blow past that goal,” they said in a post to their Facebook page. “We could not be more proud and thankful for everyone that worked so hard to make this happen!”
The Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life is a global movement active in 36 countries and 6,000 communities worldwide.
This 6 to 12-hour walk is a powerful testament of solidarity that brings together friends, families and colleagues.
It is a unique opportunity to raise funds, celebrate life during the Hope Tour, honour those affected by cancer at the Luminary Ceremony and fight against the disease.
