
Brockville – The Brockville Police Service is investigating a fail-to-stop incident involving a high-speed ebike/dirt bike that occurred on the evening of June 16, 2026.
At approximately 9:00 pm, officers initiated a traffic stop on an e-bike/dirt bike travelling at a measured speed of 86 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone. The operator failed to stop for police. In accordance with public safety considerations, no pursuit was initiated, and officers discontinued the stop attempt.
At this time, the identity of the rider remains unknown, and the investigation is ongoing. There is an attached photo of the suspect wearing grey, with the e-bike/dirt bike in question.

- Failing to stop for police is a serious offence that poses significant risks to the public.
- High speeds with any conveyance including e-bikes or off-road style motorcycles on public roads create dangerous conditions for pedestrians, cyclists, and other motorists.
- Officers continuously assess risk before initiating pursuits, and decisions are made with public safety as the top priority.
