
Brockville – Environment Canada has issued a Yellow Warning – Severe Thunderstorm for Charleston Lake, Westport, Mallorytown, Gananoque and Kingston.
At 12:26 PM EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging wind gusts, up to quarter size hail and heavy rain.
Thunderstorm Location:
From Coe Hill to Griffith.
Bannockburn to Ompah
Motion: Moving southeast at 30 km/h
Hazards:
Wind: strong (90 – 100 km/h)
Hail: up to quarter size (up to 2.5 cm)
Rain: heavy (30 – 50 mm)
Locations in the Path:
Denbigh, Coe Hill, Plevna, Ompah, Cloyne, Northbrook, Flinton, Kaladar, Maberly, Verona, Northbrook, Flinton, Kaladar, Sharbot Lake, Maberly, Tweed, Parham, Tamworth, Verona, Napanee.
Local utility outages are likely. Damage to roofs, fences, soft shelters or trees is likely. Heavy rain may cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility.
Take immediate cover if a thunderstorm approaches. If outside, protect yourself from flying debris and hail.
Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
Severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain.
