
Brockville – Here we go again, Environment Canada has issued a YELLOW WATCH – SEVERE THUNDERSTORM Watch for Brockville & Leeds & Grenville
Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.
Impact Level: Moderate
Forecast Confidence: High
What:
- Wind gusts near 100 km/h.
- Heavy rain, possibly exceeding 30 mm.
- Up to ping pong ball sized hail.
When:
- This afternoon and evening.
Additional information:
Thunderstorms may develop over the area. Strong wind gusts are the main threat, however, large hail and heavy rain can not be ruled out.
Local utility outages are possible. Damage to roofs, fences, branches or soft shelters is possible. There is a risk of injury.
When thunder roars, go indoors! Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year.
Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
Strong wind gusts can damage trees, buildings and overturn vehicles. Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain.
