6th Annual Festival of the Arts Being Held This Weekend in Merrickville

Merrickville – The 6th Annual Festival of the Arts hosted by the Merrickville Organization of Culture & the Arts, (MOCA) is being held this weekend, July 11 and 12 in Merrickville.

It is being held in Blockhouse Park/Lions Pavillion alongside the Rideau Canal from 10:00am to 7:30pm on Saturday and from 10:00am to 5:00pm on Sunday.

A festive, free fun event with two days of live music, theatrical performances and art. All set in Blockhouse Park, next to the UNESCO Rideau Canal in picturesque Merrickville. Stroll throughout the Park, while enjoying the incredible arts – live music, live theatre, children’s programming and over 30+ artists – all for free!

A participatory children’s music and movement program will take place at 11:00am on July 11. Musical performances that day will feature Jan Bentham at 2:00pm, Jessica Lavallee at 3:00pm and The Family Name at 4:00pm.

A special night performance starting at 6:30pm will feature headliner Emma Lamontagne as well on the evening of July 11 there will be a reception and art exhibition at Monsky Creations Gallery from 6:00–9:00pm.

On Sunday, July 12, music performances will feature Guy Noël at 11:00am, Keeley Brown at 1:30pm and a matinée headlining performance from the Keith Glass Band at 2:30pm.

Children are welcome to come and make art in the festival’s Mini-MAG tent and at 1:00pm on both days, children and their grown-ups will be treated to storytelling by Jo Kuyvenhoven, one of Canada’s professional storytellers.
