The Strike is Into its 8th Week!

Brockville – OPSEU Local 441 has sent a formal request to all three agencies, Lanark Leeds and Grenville Addictions and Mental Health (LLGAMH), Children’s Mental Health of Leeds and Grenville (CMHLG), and the Brockville and Area Community Living Association (BACLA to come back to the bargaining table.
Part of this invitation, is that a representative of “the funder” be present, which would be a member of the Ontario government, as each agency is provincially funded.
“Your frontline staff have spent years navigating the effects of wage restraint policies, including the impact of Bill 124, which suppressed compensation growth while the cost of living continued to rise,” the letter stated to all three agencies.
“Given the financial and operational realities affecting the organization, we also believe that the most effective and sustainable resolution will include the active participation of the funder in discussions aimed at reaching a renewed agreement,” said the union in the letter. “The involvement of all key decision-makers at the table would provide an opportunity to explore solutions, address outstanding concerns, and ensure that any agreement reached is both fair and financially sustainable.”
In a message sent to Hometown TV12 on Tuesday, July 14th from BACLA and CHILDRENS MENTAL HEALTH union members, they stated, “BACLA and CHILDRENS MENTAL HEALTH peaceful picket currently happening at the Chelsea court. People in town want updates on the strike and why we are into week 8 come down and ask us”
