Brockville – Environment Canada has issued a YELLOW WATCH – SEVERE THUNDERSTORM Watch for Brockville and Leeds-Grenville for this afternoon and early evening.
Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.
Wind gusts up to 110 km/h, quarter sized hail, rainfall amounts 30 to 50 mm over a few locales and a risk of a tornado.
Thunderstorms are expected to develop and track over the area this afternoon and possibly early this evening.
Driving conditions may be difficult. Local utility outages are possible. Damage to roofs, fences, branches or soft shelters is possible.
When thunder roars, go indoors! Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Secure loose objects.
Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
